Guwahati (my birth place) is the largest city in Assam and the most modern one. The city is in the bank of the mighty Brahmaputra river and surrounded by dark-green mountains. Guwahati is a gateway city to enter the northeastern part of India(if you want to visit northeastern part, you need to halt here).

People in this part of the world use Chinese fishing net to catch fish. This is one of the very efficient methods. Pobitora is a wild life sanctuary and is located about 48 km east of Guwahati. It has a dense population of the Great Indian one-horned rhinoceros.
